পরোক্ষ উক্তি — Reported Speech

কেউ কী বলেছে তা অন্যকে জানানোর সময় tense এক ধাপ পিছিয়ে যায়।

Direct:   "I am happy," she said.
Reported: She said (that) she was happy.

Tense পরিবর্তন (Tense backshift):
  am / is / are    →  was / were
  will             →  would
  can              →  could
  may              →  might
  Past Simple      →  Past Perfect (went → had gone)
  Present Perfect  →  Past Perfect (have seen → had seen)

Pronoun পরিবর্তন: I → he/she | we → they | my → his/her

Command (আদেশ): told + object + (not) to + V1
  "Be quiet!" → He told us to be quiet.

Yes/No প্রশ্ন: asked + if / whether + subject + verb
  "Do you swim?" → She asked if I swam.

Wh-প্রশ্ন: asked + wh-word + subject + verb
  "Where do you live?" → He asked where I lived.

💡 মনে রাখুন:
  Direct → Reported: ঘড়ির কাঁটা এক ঘণ্টা পিছিয়ে দাও!
  is → was | will → would | can → could

⚠️ সাধারণ ভুল:
  She said that she is happy.   ❌  (is → was)
  She said that she was happy.  ✅
  He told me go home.           ❌  (told + to + V1)
  He told me to go home.        ✅
