Preposition

noun/pronoun-এর আগে বসে সম্পর্ক দেখায়

যে শব্দ noun/pronoun-এর আগে বসে স্থান, সময় বা সম্পর্ক বোঝায় তাকে Preposition বলে।

• The cat is under the table.

• The book is on the shelf.

in = ভেতরে · on = উপরে · at = নির্দিষ্ট বিন্দু

ভেতরে থাকলে in, উপরিতলে থাকলে on, নির্দিষ্ট ছোট জায়গা/বিন্দুতে থাকলে at।

• The pen is in the box.

• The book is on the table.

• Wait for me at the gate.

under = নিচে · near = কাছে · behind = পেছনে

অবস্থান বোঝাতে এই preposition-গুলো ব্যবহার হয়।

• The ball is under the chair.

• The school is near my house.

• He is standing behind the door.

between = দুইয়ের মাঝে · among = অনেকের মাঝে

দুইজন/দুইটির মাঝে between, তিন বা তার বেশির মাঝে among ব্যবহার হয়।

• The pen is between the two books.

• He is popular among his friends.

opposite = বিপরীতে · towards = দিকে

বিপরীত পাশে opposite, কোনো দিকে যাওয়া বোঝাতে towards ব্যবহার হয়।

• The park is opposite our house.

• The boy is walking towards the school.
