Pronoun কাকে বলে
Noun-এর বদলে ব্যবহৃত শব্দ
একই noun বারবার না বলে তার বদলে ব্যবহৃত শব্দকে Pronoun বলে।
• Anika has a book. It is interesting. (It = the book)
Subject Form
I, we, you, he, she, it, they
বাক্যের কর্তা (subject) অবস্থানে বসা pronoun।
• He is my friend.
• They are students.
Object Form
me, us, you, him, her, it, them
verb বা preposition-এর পরে (object অবস্থানে) বসা pronoun।
• She helped me.
• I saw him yesterday.
Possessive Form
my/mine, our/ours, your/yours, his, her/hers, its, their/theirs
অধিকার বোঝাতে দুই ধরনের possessive form হয় — একটা noun-এর আগে বসে (my book), আরেকটা একাই দাঁড়ায় (This is mine)।
• This is my pen.
• This pen is mine.
কোন noun-এর বদলে কোন pronoun
আগের বাক্যের noun খুঁজে সঠিক pronoun বাছাই
কোনো pronoun কোন noun-এর বদলে বসেছে তা বুঝতে আগের বাক্যটা দেখতে হয় — noun singular/plural ও gender অনুযায়ী সঠিক pronoun বসে।
• Students are disciplined. They stay in the hostel. (They = Students)
