শব্দে স্ট্রেস — Suffix-এর নিয়ম
-tion, -sion → suffix-এর ঠিক আগের syllable-এ স্ট্রেস
'-tion' বা '-sion' যোগ হলে স্ট্রেস সবসময় ঠিক তার আগের syllable-এ চলে আসে।

inform + ation → informATion
This is a big deciSION.
decide + sion → deciSION
-ic, -ical → suffix-এর ঠিক আগের syllable-এ স্ট্রেস
'-ic' বা '-ical' যোগ হলেও স্ট্রেস ঠিক তার আগের syllable-এ চলে আসে।
She is very energETic.
energy + ic → energETic
This is a histORical place.
history + ical → histORical
-ity → suffix-এর ঠিক আগের syllable-এ স্ট্রেস
'-ity' যোগ হলেও স্ট্রেস তার ঠিক আগের syllable-এ চলে আসে।
This city has a large populATion.
populate → populATion
I admire his creativITY.
creative + ity → creativITY
-ment, -er, -ing, -ful → মূল শব্দের স্ট্রেস বদলায় না
এই suffix-গুলো যোগ হলে মূল শব্দের স্ট্রেস একই জায়গায় থাকে, বদলায় না।
This is a great achieveMENT for her.
achieve (a-CHIEVE) → achievement (a-CHIEVE-ment), স্ট্রেস একই থাকে
